About OrgIndex
What it is
OrgIndex maps a company's IP footprint — every netblock we can evidence, with its source and confidence — built from registry (RIR/RDAP), BGP, RPKI, IRR, PeeringDB, and GLEIF legal-entity data. It distinguishes what's registered, what's announced, what's inferred from a carrier's customer routing, and what's a namesake rather than the same organisation, and says so explicitly rather than presenting one confident-looking number. Methodology and known limitations are published on /accuracy, full source provenance and licensing terms on /licence, and per-source ingestion freshness on /data.
Who operates it
OrgIndex is operated by Tom Samson. The same identity is named as the contracting party in the Terms of Service and as data controller in the Privacy Policy.
How the data is kept current
The full ingestion-and-clustering pipeline runs weekly; the per-source last-run status is shown on /data rather than asserted here, since it changes run to run. Footprint changes shown on /changes can reflect our re-clustering as well as real-world change in the underlying registries.
Accuracy & honesty
Attribution is a best-effort inference from imperfect public data, not an authoritative ownership record. OrgIndex is provided without warranty — verify load-bearing conclusions against primary sources. We would rather show no answer, or a qualified one, than a confident-looking wrong one; see /accuracy for the clustering benchmark and its scope.
